
Macarena Villagra
Macarena Villagra, has been passionate about creating since childhood, Illustration being the main focus in her studies. Attending Academy of Art in San Francisco in 2012, the passion for Graphic Design was ignited. Resulting in years of study; learning on the job in years of working in print shops and interning as a designer for a pop culture magazine from 2019 to 2022. Macarena received her BFA in Graphic Design from Sessions School of Professional Design in 2022.
While living in Portland in 2014, Macarena decided to dive deeper into printmaking. She already had some skills in screen printing, being taught at a young age but she wanted to learn more. Printmaking became a good focus for her and led her to Bend Art Center in 2015, where she became an artist member and interned for exhibitions; Small Prints 2016, Books and Ruins 2017, Small Prints 2018. She eventually maintained and updated pages for the website before the art center closed.
Tech and Art have always been an interest for her, so it was logical to dive deep into digital art, and UX design. Macarena is currently getting her MPS in UX Design Design from Maryland Institute College of Art, and set to graduate fall of 2024.
